Shipping prices per Catagory, how can i configure it?

Hey all,
I am trying to figure out how to make shipping fee per catagory and to setup only one shipping zone (everywhere) for all orders.
I dont need us/ca or europe , the price is fixed for all countries however each item group has a different shipping price.

p.s. i dont use any addons , only what was installed with the system (got latest 1.5.1)

Maybe the good news is that Numinix has a mod designed to do this.

Unfortunately, it's for 1.5.6

It's free, but the requirements for downloading it are a bit bizarre.

If you are actually using 1.5.1, you're 14 years and 25 releases behind being current. :blink:

It's questionable at best whether or not it would work even if you upgrade to 1.5.6.

So many other factors beyond the files themselves.

This sounds like an interesting mod...

Let me see if I got this right.
Shipping any item from category_1 is the same cost for UK, USA, Australia... Basically anywhere in the world.
Shipping any item from category_2 is the same cost anywhere in the world.
etc etc

What happens in I buy an item from category_1 AND category_2 in the same order?
I'm assuming the following:

• you don't have Linked Products, although this is something that should be factored in as well.
• you would set a cost for the parent category which would apply to all subcategories, but it would be good if a subcategory could have it's own override cost

Let's discuss it, sounds like an interesting feature that might be useful for others as well.
