W3 Error - end tag for "ul" which is not finished

Hello all i am stumped on this one :frusty:

I am getting two errors as below

 Line 78, Column 5: end tag for "ul" which is not finished

</ul>
Most likely, you nested tags and closed them in the wrong order. For example <p><em>...</p> is not acceptable, as <em> must be closed before <p>. Acceptable nesting is: <p><em>...</em></p>

Another possibility is that you used an element which requires a child element that you did not include. Hence the parent element is "not finished", not complete. For instance, in HTML the <head> element must contain a <title> child element, lists require appropriate list items (<ul> and <ol> require <li>; <dl> requires <dt> and <dd>), and so on.

and

Line 289, Column 13: end tag for "ul" which is not finished

        </ul>

I cant seem to find the error which they are referencing, i have gone through my drop down menu and as far as i can tell they are all closed and good so i must be missing something obvious!

Any help or hints on where to find this problem would be appreciated :unsure:

In most cases this refers to an empty list with only <ul></ul> in a menu or a side box, like the what's new box.
