ck editor installation on 1.3.9h?

Not 100% about above version, but this thread was begun to move the discussion out of it's unrelated thread as posted by the original poster:

I am trying to customize this template. The site I am working on is 1.3.9 and installed ckeditor all files via filezilla but it is not appearing in admin. The only two option I see Html area/Plain text.

I have installed CKE on 1.5 before and it worked fine.

Any idea?

I seem to recall that there was something different to do to get ckeditor to work under versions older than 1.5.x, but at the moment I do not recall what that action is. It was something to do withthe editor files I thought under admin, had to add it to some sort of list of editors.

The other thing to try/verify is that the cache has been cleared or to try a different browser as a possibility.

Have you verified you have installed the correct version for your installation, I have made that mistake and had a similar issue.

I just wrestled a little with installing CKEditor on 1.3.9h. after following the instructions, the editor would not show in the drop down in the admin on any screen. The current instructions for CKEditor do not tell you to also copy the init_html_editor.php file into the admin/includes/init_includes/overrides/ folder. Hopefully this helps someone in the future.
