QTY Discount shown but not applied when added to cart

V1.5.3

The product price manager for setting up quantity discounts seems pretty straight forward.

Setup a product to discount 5% when qty 5 or more are purchased.
Qty discounts are shown in a table on the product page, but the discount is not applied when qty 5 is added to the cart.

It must be related to something that I am doing wrong since the same thing happens if I perform the same setup on a live v1.3.9H site, my v1.5.1 sandbox or my v1.5.3 sandbox.

The product being tested is priced by attributes.
The product being tested does not allow the discount to be applied for mixed attributes.

If someone could point me in the direction to remedy my setup mistakes, I would appreciate it.

I even pulled out the instruction binder that is a few versions old and it sure looks like what I did is the same as outlined in the book.

Products priced by attributes are not discounted by Products Price Manager. You have a couple of options; you can use my Quantity Discounts mod to apply discounts as an order total, or you can use Twitch's mod which extends PPM. Both are in the plugins area.

I'll take a look at the Quantity Discount plugin as things get labeled v1.5.3 ready.
I didn't see any Twitch description for plain-old Quantity discounting so a bit more reading is necessary.

Does it "play nice" with v1.5.3?

So far v1.5.3 has been the most problematic install/upgrade that I have attempted. I had expected core product functionality from v1.3.9h to still be functional and that is not proving to be the case.

Yes, Quantity Discounts contribution works fine with 1.5.3.
