Is there a shipping module that can assign certain categories?

I am looking for a shipping module that I can assign certain categories to a particular shipping method. For example, only USPS for postcards, only UPS for big chunky staff...

Any tip?

Re: Is there a shipping module that can assign certain categories?

Hi,

there are two options that I know of. I'm not a programmer myself but I've seen posts on this forum where you modify for example the Flat Rate shipping module to show only for certain categories. I haven't tried it myself but the code changes looked simple. If you need to use the same module but with different settings for different categories you will also have to clone them. Instructions are to be found all over this forum :).

The second option would be to check out the commercial "Advanced Shipper" module. Google it :)
