Top Category Description Missing

I would like to display the top category description on my site, but it appears to be missing when viewed. Currently I have placed a image in the description box of the admin area under Catalog > Category/Product > Shoes. But on review, no image. Link to page http://dnjcouture.com/shoes-c-3/.

I have provided a example to help visualize the result I am looking for.

Attachment 14572

Any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Top Category Description Missing

It looks as though you have the following in your stylesheet

#categoryImgListing{
display: none;
}

remove the display:none; and there you have it.

(the image is resized small, as defined in >admin>images)

Re: Top Category Description Missing

Found the error. The file tpl_index_categories.php had a line set to "0".

ORIGINAL Source Code:

<?php // categories_description if ($current_categories_description != '' && PRODUCT_LIST_CATEGORY_ROW_STATUS == **0**) { ?> <div id="categoryDescription" class="catDescContent"><?php echo $current_categories_description; ?></div> <?php } // categories_description ?>

Changed to "1" and image appeared.

<?php // categories_description if ($current_categories_description != '' && PRODUCT_LIST_CATEGORY_ROW_STATUS == **1**) { ?> <div id="categoryDescription" class="catDescContent"><?php echo $current_categories_description; ?></div> <?php } // categories_description ?>

Re: Top Category Description Missing

The code you quoted is not Zen Cart code. It could have been that the template code was fighting the stylesheet.

Regardless, you might want to try the stylesheet fix rather than messing with the code. If nothing else, it might prevent problems on later upgrades.

Additionally, although yours does not appear to be a responsive template, many responsive templates use the display:none; to drop the images when in tablet or smart phone mode. You can see yours at http://quirktools.com/screenfly/
