1.5.2? 1.5.3? News to me.

Hi - my store says I'm up to date with 1.5.1
Your version of Zen Cart® appears to be current.
(You are presently using: v1.5.1)

I didn't upgrade to 1.5.2 (or 1.5.3) as a result of this.

Thought you'd like to know.

CarolineBogart:

Is there a 1.5.2?
I read I needed to go to 1.5.2 before going to 1.5.3 but I don't see 1.5.2 here
http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?200688-Known-Bugs-%28and-fixes%29-with-v1-5-1&p=1154025#post1154025

The upgrade process does not require installing each version between the current and the desired, further, version 1.5.2 was not issued as a formal version to be used in a production environment. The next production version would be 1.5.3. The information located in the upper right of your admin panel that indicates the version you are using should indicate that there is a newer version if the option to check for updates is selected, the option in the configuration panel to check for an updated version when logging into the admin panel, and if the version installed was originally obtained from the zen-cart website (previous/available versions can be found at http://www.zen-cart.com/getit)

The thread regarding 1.5.1 known bugs would not be expected to identify newer versions; however, often versions that have been modified to incorporate an issue may be made known there. For example there is a test version of 1.6.0 that is out there, primarily to support programming in preparation for expected changes.

Re: 1.5.2? 1.5.3? News to me.

If I click that button, shouldn't it compare 1.5.1 to the 1.5.3 available and leave me a message regarding the upgrade? There's a switch somewhere else that says: "Click the button but if I'm not switched on it will tell you all is well with 1.5.1"?

If the original files for your current version were obtained from ZC and such functionality has not been disabled through modification, then yes on a default install of ZC, clicking the button/icon in the upper right corner where it asks if you would like to verify your version is up-to-date should provide a link I think it is just below there to indicate that the version is to be updated and a way to go get the newer(est) version. There is a feature I think it is under the configuration option of my store to automatically check that version whenever the admin panel is opened. Nowadays, that is a feature that can be enabled upon installation. (Maybe it has been there all the time, but I know it's in the 1.5.3 version installation having gone through that so many times for others.)

Yes it should.
In an older ZC version there was a bug in that part of the code, and if you upgraded from a prior version and happened to skip the various PHP files that handle that, then it's possible you've left that bug in your store.
