problem with plug in Simple SEO URLs

Hello,

I have downloaded this plug in and uploaded the files to the server. I have run the SQL file and in the "extras" tab in the admin area there is now an option marked "Simple SEO Manager""

When I click on the option I am redirected to Http://www.mysite.com/admin/ssu.php but all I see is a completely blank white window.

Can anyone offer and advice? I could not find any installation instructions for this plug-in.

Many Thanks

What errors appear in your error logs? (Found at the general location of www. mysite. com/logs though not accessible via webbrowser)

Re: problem with plug in Simple SEO URLs

Update: Hello,

I discovered that I left some files out of the upload, but that has been rectified and the situation is as follows:

I have run the SQL file and in the "extras" tab in the admin area there is now an option marked "Simple SEO Manager""

When I click on that option I get a list of functions:
Cache Functions
Check and fix cache(Run this once if you upgrade from any version older than 3.6.5): Click here
Reset all cache: Click here
Reset alias cache: Click here
Reset only categories cache: Click here
Reset only products cache: Click here
Reset only pages cache: Click here
Alias Functions
Manage Aliases: Click here

If I click on the "manage Aliases" link I get an empty table with column headings: ID URL Alias Status Permanent, but there is nowhere on that page to enter any information.-

I could not find any installation instructions or usage instructions for this plug-in. Can anyone tell me how I can get the plug-in to work and give me friendly urls? Is there a help file for it anywhere?

Many Thanks

Re: problem with plug in Simple SEO URLs

If you are installing Simple SEO URLs for Zen Cart 1.5.x, I would recommend making a post in the current maintainers Support Thread for the Zen Cart 1.5.x version. Usually the maintainer will be "subscribed" to their Support Thread and receive notification when someone posts in the Support Thread.

When posting in the Support Thread please include: the version of Simple SEO URLs, the version of PHP, any debug logs, a list of any other modifications / plugins made to the Zen Cart installation, and a link to this thread (or a copy of the issue currently being experienced).

I do not know if this is still the case, but the support thread indicates the current maintainer may have a more updated version of Simple SEO URLs available from their company's website (requiring registration - but still free).

In the text of the downloads area for version 3.5.1 the support location was identified as: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86353

This newer version that has been brought up to work with 1.5.1 may not be still discussed there; however, it seems like the product was merely updated to continue to work not rewritten. There may be additional assistance in that other forum. I further thought that one of the "benefits" of this version was that there was no real entry needed, that the links would be auto-generated while being viewed. I could be wrong about that.

I recognize that an option under the extras tab has been noticeably added; however, it would seem like there would be something additional somewhere else to control the on/off state of the plugin. Just seems reasonable...

Re: problem with plug in Simple SEO URLs

Hello,

Problem solved. I found a hint when reading the posts at: http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?210439-Simple-SEO-URLs-for-ZC-1-5-x-Support-Thread The extras link does not work, but there is also a link at the bottom of the configuration tab, and there I was able to turn the module on and it appears to be working fine.

Thanks for your help.
