Upgrade question - unclear about module

Hello Fellow Zenners -

I have a cart running 1.5 and another one running 1.5.1. I am planning on upgrading both to 1.5.3. While the upgrade instructions are pretty clear and I am working on creating a document about any changes that I've made etc., I'm a little confused about modules that I have installed. Some of the modules have new versions available that are compatible with 1.5.3 and other like Image Handler, Simple SEO does not seem to be compatible yet.

When upgrading the files and database, should I uninstall the modules that are not compatible or leave them on? I know this might seem a silly question but I'm not sure how to handle this.

You can use the latest version of Image Handler without any problem on ZC 1.5.3
Don't know about the "SEO" mods, because I do not use them.

Simple SEO has been messy and unusable for YEARS IMHO.. Ultimate SEO or Ceon URI are your better bets.. I do believe Ultimate SEO has a converter of some sort to help when transitioning from Simple SEO to Ultimate SEO.. (but you will have to confirm this by reading the Ultimate SEO readme - which means YES you will have to download it)

New version of IH4 coming out which FINALLY (thanks to balhir) gets rid of those ugly MD5 hash file names..

The new file naming convention breaks down like this:
Actual file name
Filetype
Dimension

This should encourage shop owners to create image file names which are MUCH more meaningful, and it means that shop owners will need to implement file naming structures which follow proper file naming standards. (i.e. no file names with spaces in them or file names with invalid characters)

Needs to be tested.. I have been using this for MONTHS with no issues.. However both I and my clients do not engage in bad file naming practices, and I'm not tested this on sites which the file names include spaces or invalid characters.
