USPS 1st Class Large Env Rates still seem to be off...?

I rec'd Ajeh's notice about the "fix" by the USPS and here is what I am seeing on a typical USPS delivery as of this morning:

Item wgt = .10 -- I do have some other handling fees but they are consistent and not changing by wgt.
Sold qty 1 (.1 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = $4.92
Sold qty 2 (.2 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = $5.10
Sold qty 3 (.3 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = $4.63
Sold qty 4 (.4 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = $4.84
Sold qty 5 (.5 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = $5.26
Sold qty 6 (.6 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = $5.68
Sold qty 7 (.7 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = $5.89
Sold qty 8 (.8 lbs)- USPS Lg Env rate = Not available

There is not a fraction of a pound (beyond the .1 lb each) on the weight, so even the .8 should go 1st Class since it is below .8125 lbs.

Could you go to your Zen Cart Admin and in the Modules ... Shipping ... click on USPS and edit this and set the Debug Log on, then try a quote for your .8lbs and look in the /logs (this is /cache on older versions of Zen Cart) and Zip the log file and attach it to your post?

Ajeh, could not find any debug file log in /logs or cache files... shall I provide a clip of the display or email version?

First, check that you have the current USPS October 30, 2104 K6 module install:

Go to your Zen Cart Admin and go to Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ...

In the bottom input box enter:
usps.php

Then, select Catalog ... click SEARCH ...

What comes up on the paths to the files and the lines for:

• @version $Id: usps.php

Second, in your Zen Cart Admin, edit the USPS shipping module and at the bottom check that Debug is set to Log ...

Next, try a shipping quote for your .8lbs ...

Then, look in the /logs with your FTP software and be sure to do a refresh, to see the most current shipping logs created ...

You will notice your settings for:

Maximum: 30 Tare Rates: Small/Medium: 5:0 Large: 10:1

This is adding additional weight to your quotes which will exceed the limitations ...

Your cart weight vs total weight:

Cart Weight: 0.8
Total Quote Weight: 0.84 Pounds: 0 Ounces: 14

So your .8lbs (12.8 ounces) is over the limit with your tare rate increasing the weight to 0.84lbs (13.44 ounces) which gives a quote for 14 ounces ...

would that also be what affects my up and down pricing/costs on the lower weights of 1, 2 & 3 oz packages?

On this .8lbs ... if you were to tell me in words and not numbers what that should mean to you, are you saying that weight is eight ounces or twelve point eight ounces?

Keep in mind that 1 ounce is entered in the Product Weight as 0.0625 not as 0.10 ...
