High Parse time, slow load of site

Hi. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

I'm trying to speed up a site.

Server info:
Server Host: host110.hostmonster.com (74.220.207.110)
Server OS: Linux 3.12.26.1407184750
Server Date: 12/04/2014 12:35:51
Server Up Time: 12:35:51 up 120 days, 16:55, 0 users, load average: 44.64, 34.28, 33.04
PHP Version: 5.2.17 (Zend: 2.2.0) PHP Memory Limit: 64M
PHP File Uploads: On Max Size: 10M

Parsing stats are displayed. Average parse time per page is around 1.5 - 2. Average query time per page is 0.8.

Trying to get it to 0.5 parse time.

Site: https://www.printingsuppliesdirect.com

Any suggestions? Much appreciated.

 **Database Date:** 12/04/2014 14:49:22 |
 **Server Up Time:** 14:49:22 up 87 days, 9:17, 1 user, load average: 11.94, 14.22, 15.53 |
 **HTTP Server:** Apache |
**PHP Version:** 5.4.34 (Zend: 2.4.0) **PHP Memory Limit:** 1500M |
 **PHP Safe Mode:** Off |
**PHP File Uploads:** On **Max Size:** 350M |

You might also contact them about your Load Averages and see if that is an issue or if you can be moved to a server that is not so overloaded ...

How many Categories and Products do you have?

How many Attributes do you have? What is the average number per Product?

I apologize for my ignorance, but where can I find all of this?
Thank you.

Re: High Parse time, slow load of site

You could look in phpMyAdmin at your database tables to see what the counts are for the tables:
products
products_description
categories
categories_description
products_attributes

Re: High Parse time, slow load of site

First, see if you have a php.ini file that you can customize and increase some of those limits ...

Next, how active is your site? Some of this appears to be the MySQL queries are not cached, as I find if I go to a category that appears slow, then try it again after flipping through the products with Prev/Next, that things speed up quite a bit ...

I did find the php.ini file in the main "public_html" directory of the account. There's a lot here.
I see for example:
"max_execution_time = 30 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 60 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (16MB)"

Another dumb question: Is it ok to increase these limits? I would just follow what you edited in your custom settings.

The site doesn't get a load of traffic. Some. I would call it "a little more than some traffic".

Re: High Parse time, slow load of site

Increased the limits to your custom script.
Couldn't find where to up this: "Database Data Size: 1,464 kB Database Index Size: 1,015 kB"

Reduce load time to about 1/2 a second. Much faster now.

THANKS AJEH!!! Do you have a place I can contribute to you for this, paypal account?

Those are my database, yours will differ ...

While I always love coffee and donuts specifically to me ... It is always better to donate to the Zen Cart Team as we all work pretty ...
