quick way to duplicate a product?

I've been using zen cart since 2006 and I realized I don't think I've ever stumbled across this. Is there a quick and easy way to simply duplicate an existing product (and then edit it)? I have to set up a series of products for client that are all almost exactly the same. Only the model number and price will be slightly different. I was hoping to take a short cut rather than having to go through and set each field manually.

Yes it is staring you in the face. :laugh:

when in the admin viewung the product listing, on the right there are several icons (edit, move, copy and delete). Use these to copy a product.

From the Catalog->Categories/Products, navigate until the product you want to duplicate is shown in the list. Look at the little icons listed on the right-hand side of the page, specifically the dark-blue one with a big C in the middle. Click the one associated with the to-be-duplicated product.

From the next screen, select the master-category into which the duplicated product will be created, click the "Duplicate Product" radio-button and choose whether/not any attributes from the copy-from product should be copied to the new product. Click the "Copy" button.

The new, duplicated product will initially be disabled and you'll be taken to a category listing with that new product included in the list.

Oh, I did see that icon but thought that that simply copied the same product into a different category. I'll try that.

And if going with a larger quantity of items, there are some utilities such as EasyPopulate and Apsona for starters that would allow copying en masse. (EP4 requires a unique model number for each product.)
