Database needs to be upgraded Need Help!!

I had set up a site running zen cart 1.5.1 everything was running smoothly until I upgraded to 1.5.3 yesterday. I upgraded by FTP all the files for 1.5.3 over and over writing what was already there then i carried over the old configure.php files for both admin and includes Everything works excepts I get an error saying "Warning Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Tools->Server Information to review patch levels." when I looked in server info it states that I have database v 1.5.1 and need to upgrade.

I have looked to find how to upgrade and nothing has worked so far. Also I should add that i have tried to upgrade with the zc_install folder and then to upgrade database but when I do this it just goes to a white screen and nothing happens.

 So, my question is 
    
 
  a) how else should I try to update the database or is there a way to do it manually
    
 
  b) did I do something wrong in the install process.
    
 
  c) is there a way do disable the warning until i get it fixed

Check your log file to see what kind of error it is creating.
