Going to 1.5.4, will moneybookers still work?

Why are you asking? If you properly use zc_install to do the database upgrade, it will NOT LOSE ANY OF YOUR DATA, so spending time focused on db changes IS NOT THE BEST USE OF YOUR TIME while trying to do an upgrade.

Personally my guess is a few things based on other similar threads over the last couple of hours is that the database was upgraded without the files being fully in place or a backup of the database, or a true sense of angst even though with all backups available (right? backups have been made?) that the store could be put back the way it was quickly/easily... But all in all, the whole gest is that, you not only continue making money with your site up and running (on an old version) while you use your time (more money) to prepare the site to look new, then when that is all done and looking good, that's when the two come together... This common theme has been expressed multiple times through this thread and others as well... Work smarter not harder, sell more...

This is "a priori" - I have a tendency to try address issues (i.e. things I don't understand) before the poop hits the fan.
I have done backups and upgrades and dry runs and ... compiling my customization in to folder structure for better maintenance.
I've run across ToDo:s in the code, so all is never finished completely, is it - that makes me poke and wonder.
