can auto logout after 15 minutes be overridden?

Can the 15 minute time frame be extended or negated rather than writing content offsite and then pasting in EZ page?
I have been using, still use, v1.3.9h for a long time so this auto logout with a new site using 1.5.3 is so frustrating - writing content in EZ pages and when I go to save I find I am logged out because 15 minutes has expired - keep losing content. Tried 'remembering' to copy first before saving but I have trouble remembering my name at times.
cheers,
Mike

p.s. can an 'auto save' feature be included when entering content in EZ pages and in Define Pages Editor ??

Re: can auto logout after 15 minutes be overridden?

There is a plugin that provides a sort of onscreen reminder for timeouts...it is a much better way to manage this issue than to negate PCI compliance/leaving the session open for someone to improperly gain access.

Look in the downloads section for keepalive timer. It may be keep alive, but it's there.

As of 1.5.3 you do not need the plugin any more. You can set the time in admin-> your store-> admin session timeout

As of v1.5.4 you can turn off the PCI requirements in the admin My Store menu if you don't care about PCI and safety.

Re: can auto logout after 15 minutes be overridden?

Thanks for all replies - security is not an issue as site does not have a store, it is being purely used as a reference site.

cheers,
Mike

No names/addresses collected? No financial information?

No - none, I am using ZC currently for 6 sites as designed, eCommerce, however with a site currently being done there are some 200 + EZ pages being added before I add a store so I can adjust session time back to 900 seconds at that point, for now I need a longer timeout.

I am also considering using ZC for purely content/adsense sites, there will be zero eCommerce, just a bunch of EZ pages - (on topic sites as sources for links to existing eCommerce sites and some with some Adsense). Reason being the CMS program I have been using for years for this purpose is now no longer supported and I am familiar with ZC and cannot be bothered going through the learning curve of another CMS program. Additionally it may be that with some content/adsense projects in mind it may so happen I will include a store at some point down the track so I reckon commonality will help in these cases.

cheers,
Mike

We're toying with this for a future version. It requires some infrastructure changes. The auto-save wouldn't be to make the changes "go live", but rather merely to preserve temporary editing contents until the submit button is pressed.

Good to hear Doc - like the auto save here in the forum or in Word or Outlook?> DrByte:

Re: can auto logout after 15 minutes be overridden?

If you are using ck editor, you could ad the auto save plugin to it, I have briefly tested it and it seems to work.

Below you will find the download link for ckeditor from DrBytes Ckeditor plugin 3.7n with the autosave feature added (download link)

This is the link to the AutoSave Plugin web page

after uploading the files:
In the CKEditor configuration file (config.js) add the following code:

config.extraPlugins = 'autosave';
