Upgraded to 1.5.4, now blank screen when admin logged in PHP 5.4.25

Hi, I upgraded because paypal checkout was broken.

Backed up the original database
Uploaded the newer version of Zen Cart via FTP.

The store looks like it is working from the main. Needs tweaks again to the front page, logo. etc. But logging in as admin, takes me to login.php?camefrom=index.php and the page is blank. Configuration files for admin and regular includes look like all is normal. And again, the rest of the store seems fine.

Now MySQL is a bit old, and I probably should upgrade it. Just worried about other multiple domains with wordpress and vbulletin and something getting broken. But maybe I should not be worried?

Unix box running CPanel and WHM.
Server type: MySQL
Server version: 5.1.73-cll - MySQL Community Server (GPLv2)
cpsrvd 11.46.2.3
Database client version: libmysql - 5.1.73
PHP extension: mysqli
PHP Version information: 4.0.10.7

Note: I only know enough to probably mess things up royally.
Thank you!

Zen Cart 1.5.4 runs out-of-box on PHP 5.3+ Most likely the very old version is the culprit.

If you could also answer the rest of the questions listed in the "Posting Tips" it would be helpful (when posting scroll up to read these).

Re: Upgraded to 1.5.4, now blank screen when admin logged in PHP 5.4.25

Sorry, I copied the version of phpmyadmin instead. Ooops. The php is PHP Version 5.4.25

I did q quick look over before the first post to see if anything else is needed. Version of ZC is noted. Happened when I upgraded. I uploaded via FTP, using ZCinstall I upgraded the DB from 1.1 to 1.5 doing one step at a time. Store looks normal and working.

I see that this log was from the attempt to log in while zcintall still existed.

Just tried logging in and I am getting this:

[21-Jan-2015 13:06:31 America/New_York] PHP Fatal error: Class 'zcPassword' not found in /home/chasecam/public_html/store/includes/functions/password_funcs.php on line 15

Re: Upgraded to 1.5.4, now blank screen when admin logged in PHP 5.4.25

Trying to get a better picture of the "upgrade". Did you start with completely "clean" Zen Cart 1.5.4 files (no files or alterations from old versions)? Then run "/zc_install" placed in the root folder for the store ("/store/zc_install") against a new database? Then test, install modules, etc... And finally remove the "test" database, copy the old database to the new database location, then upgrade the database at the new location using "zc_install"?

Can you post "/includes/configure.php" and "/includes/my-renamed-admin/configure.php" (remove the database password and change the admin location if mentioned to "/admin")?

If you use PayPal (and possibly some other payment modules or shipping modules retrieving live quotes) you may run into some issues unless the hosting provider can disable the "open_basedir" restriction. I have not personally tested against an environment with this restriction in place... Things may still work...

Re: Upgraded to 1.5.4, now blank screen when admin logged in PHP 5.4.25

There was an existing and working store on the domain in /store/ I think it was ver 1.1? There was a module installed for paypal and one for using stripe, then USPS and UPS for shipping. Nothing else was changed or unique.
I downloaded a new version and simply uploaded the files, without modifying anything, after I did a database backup.

Then I ran zcinstall and db upgrade, one step at a time (1.1-1.2, 1.2-1.3, etc)

Then (going on fuzzy memory) I think it said successful but I needed to delete the zcinstall directory, which I did. I don't recall any other options for doing anything else. My next step was to log in as admin but that did not work. I tried having password reset, but that did not work as it was not sending me the email. I then went into the db using phpmyadmin to change the email address to an alternate one and that seemed to work on a password reset.

But every time I log in as admin, I just get to a blank page.

Re: Upgraded to 1.5.4, now blank screen when admin logged in PHP 5.4.25

  1. Since you're using PHP 5.4, you do NOT need this fix: http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?215694-Known-Bugs-%28and-fixes%29-with-v1-5-4&p=1270404#post1270404
    (just mentioning this so that others know this has been considered)

  2. This:

randychase:

/admin/includes/configure.php

/**

  • WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE SSL PROTECTION FOR YOUR ENTIRE ADMIN:
  • To do that, make sure you use a "https:" URL for BOTH the HTTP_SERVER and HTTPS_SERVER entries:
    */
    define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost');
    define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://localhost');
    define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://localhost');
    define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://localhost');
    I recommend fixing these as your first step.

Re: Upgraded to 1.5.4, now blank screen when admin logged in PHP 5.4.25

Thanks. I revised those by replacing 'localhost' with the actual domain. Still not working.

So to be sure, I ask for a reset password. It is sent to me, I log in using that password and I go to a blank screen.

But maybe this is something... the directory I am taken to is a specific /****_admin/ directory. One I did not even notice. The default /admin/ directory is the new one that is uploaded. So I actually have two admin directories and all of their subdirectories. And the renamed one is only the old files. That can't be good.

So when I originally installed AC, I made sure to use or rename the admin directory. Many months later, I forgot I did that. I uploaded everything as the default directories and names. A simple but bad error.

Thanks for the help. All is working on the admin log in now.
