Looking for advice on using an article manager to work with ZC

I have a bunch of articles from an previous site I would like to merge somehow with ZC.
What I have are articles about HowTo's, Instructions, Product ingredients and numerous general information articles.
What I am looking at doing is having a program linked to ZC yet completely separate. I do not want the same people that have access to writing and editing the articles to also have access to the ZC admin. Which is why I am not considering using the EZ pages.
I want to link from some products directly to a matching article like a how to use, recommended uses etc. And also be able to link from the article to the product should someone read the article before they saw the product. The linking isn't really a big requirement as I can always hard code it in to each product or article.
It also has to be easy to work with- some of my article writers are not very well experienced.

I've looked at a number of different BBs and got lost in which one to try first. So I thought I'd just ask and see who would recommend what.

Thanks

Re: Looking for advice on using an article manager to work with ZC

If you use the about-us mod, you will find the html/text component of information pages (eg articles) is contained within an includes/languages/english/html_includes/ file, which can also include references to images and other matter stored in other folders. There are exceptions to this, such as if you use the side columns for html/text content other than sideboxes, whose widths, together with that of the centre-column, can be adjusted to suit using css.

Third parties can be given a copy of the html_includes files for the purpose of writing and editing the articles, and be denied access access to the ZC admin.

Adding links to products/other areas can also be done in the html_includes files by supplying the writer/editor with copy of the desired links or inserting them yourself by copy-and-paste from the address bar.

You can compare versions of the files with a program like WinMerge for final editing.

Hope this helps
