Weight on Checkout is showing O lbs

In my zencart website, we have a custom netting calculator that will calculate the total weight(http://netsofamerica.com/index.php?main_page=page_4&category=baseball), once added to the cart the weight disappears (https://netsofamerica.com/checkout_shipping.html) which affects my total shipping costs. Shipping is charged by weight. Any suggestions to fix this?

When I build a Product, if I use 8 x 8 x 8, I made what looks like products_id 2925 ... then I added that to the cart and it looked like it made a new products_id 2926 ... does this calculator keeps creating new, unique products?

If so, is it forgetting to make a weight?

It must be since every new dimensions in reality is a new product since it is all custom work. Anyway around that?

Fix how the new Product is built to include the products_weight so that it is not 0 ...
