Don't know what I'm looking for...

I've got the cart installed and everything is working great but I would like to populate the "landing pages", not sure what to call it, when you click on a link in the menu calling out a category. Say for instance, I have marine as a category in my links and when you click on it it takes you to a page that will eventually show everything below it. I would like to edit that landing page to have some content and pictures but also have the links remaining at the top . Any help is great appreciated and always welcomed....:shocking:

I read an earlier submission which talked about the - tpl_index_product_list.php page and how it had been changed to render what I'm trying to do above mute. So, I went in and looked at the file and noticed almost the whole file rem'd out. Should I just start un-remarking things and see what happens? LOL, why do I feel like Tim Allen here......?????

So, do you mean you want to add category descriptions, to appear at the top of each category's contents? If so, go into your Admin, choose Catalog->Categories/Products, find the category and click the green "e" ("Edit") and set your description there.

I edit that and nothing shows up. That's what leads me to believe that the remarked out information needs to be un-remarked.....yes? Going to try it today.

A link to your site might let us spot something. Are you using a custom template?

Yes, I am sorry about that - bangorang.com/tackleandrod is where it site for now. I read an earlier response from stevesh that talked about the customization of the templates and how that was probable my problem. That led me to make the comment on the initial post.....

I'm getting a 404 at that URL.

Your first stop should probably be the author of your commercial template. They may have turned the category description function off for some unknown reason.
