Do I need remove all Payment,Shipping, Order Total Module Before Upgrade?

I remember long time ago see someone said that... but don't confirm!

I am plan 1.3.9h upgrade to 1.5.3

AFTER you upgrade (after zc_install runs) it is wise to note your settings, remove and reinstall and then reconfigure these modules one by one. The reason is that in later versions, some of them have had keys added.

Actually, it says the following in docs/2.readme_how_to_upgrade.html . . .

NOTICE: Re: Payment AND Shipping Modules

You will need to re-install all your active payment and shipping modules as part of your upgrade:

BEFORE UPGRADING, Take note of the login IDs, transaction keys, email addresses and other settings already configured in EACH of your Payment AND Shipping modules (You'll need this info so you can re-enter it after Installing the modules again).
Remove each module by clicking the "Remove" button for each one.
AFTER UPGRADING, Install each module (that you're using) in Admin->Modules->Payment and Admin->Modules->Shipping in order to take advantage of the bugfixes and feature improvements in each module. (you do NOT need to do this with modules you're NOT using. If you're no longer using a certain module anymore and it doesn't have a red dot next to it, click the "Remove" button to save on processing performance.)
Re-enter all your configuration settings for each module as you go along. BE SURE TO TEST each one before you take your store live again, to make sure you've got all your settings entered correctly.

However, since the above documentation specifically references both "Payment AND Shipping Modules" but does not mention Order Total Modules, it seems imply that Order Total Modules are not included in the list of modules that should be Removed and then Installed.

If the keys for a module have changed, then generally yes. Also: It NEVER hurts to do this. Note the old values, remove, install, set the new values.

V1.6 does a check and then warns you about missing keys. I keep thinking about backporting this check as a mod for 1.5.4. Hmm....

Thanks swguy. Interestingly, I was able to remove and install all Order Total Modules except one.
Zencart would not remove module named "Total" ot_total.
It is just an endless loop between clicking on "Remove" and "Are you sure you want to remove this module?"
I wonder if this means there is something wrong with my installation?

You don't need to change total; it's fine.
