Verifhying Your Site - OVER AND OVER

I have verified my site with Google over a dozen times in the course of a year and now again, they want verification that I am the owner.

I have been using the HTML method. If I went with the Google Tag Manager this time, would it be a one time verification or will I have to do it over and over as time goes by?
