Country names in more then one language needed

I have searched for this but I could only find really old threads saying it's not possible. Hoping something changed....

I am from Holland and so my website is in the Dutch language. I still offer the English language flag, for people who can't read Dutch.
When creating an account/checkout as guest, the customer can choose from the dropdown where they live. Like, belgium, france, germany, netherlands...
On the English side that is perfect, but being on the Dutch side it is really weird and not professional if these words are in English and the rest isn't.
I mean, we don't say Germany, we say Duitsland. We don't say United Kingdom, we say Engeland.
So I feel that this is something I MUST fix.

I have looked for it, but all I could find is very old and nothing more then "no can't do" and "it is very difficult"
Years later, today, can somebody help me with this?

Last week I developed a new mod for multi lingual country names. It will be up in the downloads secttion in a week or so, but if you e-mail (address is found in my profile) me, I will senfd it to you tomorrow.

Yes I think it is a "hole" that should be plugged to complete the multi-language capabilities of ZC (along with EZ pages).
Should be part of the language pack.

I can wait a few days, that is no problem! I have a lot off other things to do to make my website look the way I want and make it do what I want, so no I'm not gonna bother you and just sit and wait :yes:

Yep, for now I am building it as a module, but also am preparing a version to be included in 1.6.0, with a bit of luck.
