Upgrading for v1.3.9h to 1.5.4 HELP PLEASE

I am running 1.3.9h installed on my site from a friend. I am not a computer programmer and all the computer language is very foreign to me. I have been able to make it as far as adding new products to my site but that is really the extent.

I began having problems back in February. I would get notifications from PayPal that a payment was received, however no record of a purchase shows in my Admin. After much research to try to fix the issue, it's just left me more confused:wacko:

I stumbled upon this board, thank goodness. If ANYONE can give me assistance in an upgrade explained in plain English or has the ability to upgrade my site for me for a reasonable fee, I would be most grateful.

I've got very minor customization, no plug ins and am still using PayPal Standard, so it's pretty straightforward for someone who understands what they are doing....but that certainly isn't me:(

Your problem with Paypal is occurring because you're still using Standard. Switch to Express and that issue will go away.
