I set up a new store. When you click on a category and then click on an item you get transferred to a message

I am at a loss at what to look for to fix this.

The only thing I have changed is set up paypal since the site was working right.

I have looked thru what every zen needs to know and I have no clue as to what I need to do on either.

You're missing part of the path. Here's an example from my test site and one from yours:

The other question means the file includes/languages/english/index.php is missing or corrupted, which may also be causing the first issue.

I replaced the includes/languages/english/index.php. and it took care of the second problem. That looks great now but I am still getting the error message when you click on a product.

I see what you are saying here. But where do I change it? I looked at index.php but I don't see a line for main_page. And I do not see a main_page under includes/languages/english or even under includes.

Did you possibly try renaming the Product Types at some point?

Look at the Admin in the Catalog ... Product Types ... and see what is set if you edit the Product General for:

The other possibility is that the field products_type in the table products is set to an invalid number ...

This could be checked in phpMyAdmin for your database by checking the record for the products_id that is having an issue ...

What specifically is in the input field for:
Handler Page

You should have:
product

If it is blank that would be a big issue as the product_info is built from that ...

Handler page is set as product

If you go to phpMyAdmin and look at your database and the table:
products

and browse it ... what setting do you see for the field:
products_type

on products_id 869, 870 etc.

Product type all show 1

If you go to your Zen Cart Admin and edit a Product, do you see in the URL:

LOL Welcome to my world. I have read so much stuff I could probably write a new zencart if I understood it.

Template change when you click on a product you just get a message Sorry, the product was not found. and a continue button which takes you back to the home page.

I edited Adam the first one in the dollar designs. I thought the problem might be because I had not set up the attributes. So I set up the first 3 in dollar designs.

What is odd is some of the Products will show the product_info if you mouse over such as in the New Product sidebox the first one ...

You can change it back as that is pretty ugly ...

I found a copy of GinghamBlue that hopefully matches your copy and I could not break things in Zen Cart v1.5.4 ...

Is this a Clean install of Zen Cart v1.5.4 or an upgrade?

utf8_general_ci

or do you see latin1_swedish_ci

If you go to your Admin to the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter:
DB_CHARSET

what comes up for the paths and content?

NOTE: on the paths that contain your secret admin directory, change that directory name to fred or xxxxx so no one sees it ....

Linda I was just looking at the files in notepad++ I checked the debug logs and there is nothing there but I found an error.log I just found this

It was a new install an upgrade. I thought I had everything working ok the I started shopping and ran into problems.

If you look in phpMyAdmin at your database do you see the database tables have a collation of:
utf8_general_ci Is what shows up.

If you go to your Admin to the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ... and in the bottom input box enter: I have tried 3 or 4 different things in Developers tool box and when you hit enter it takes you back to the what I call the main page. Where it shows Statistics, New Customers, New Orders.

As much time as I have spent the last 3 days on this I am beginning to think I should just start from scratch and build a new store.

Was your old database utf8 or was it latin?

If it was latin, did you run an utf8 converter on it?

If so, which converter did did you run?

Do all the settings for DB_CHARSET read utf8 on the defines?

I am wondering if you have missing or corrupt files ...

When you did the Upgrade, did you overwrite the old files or start clean and just add your template?

I pulled up home/e4mpdnk7/public_html/index.php and it only shows up to line 105.

and I can't find '/home/e4mpdnk7/public_html/rvsincludefile/pathway_index.html' at all

I guess it overwrite the old files. I just ran the upgrade and started playing around and found error after error.

I think I'll just upload a new store and start from scratch. Thank you for your help.
