various things not working properly after upgrade

No there is no entry in those two places, there never has been since 1.3.9h and the thing worked then. I will say when the template gets installed she did have it go through and set defaults of her own which we had to go back to admin and turn them on or off whichever was the case needed. Peope have always entered what amount of item they wanted.

Ok, so you are missing home. On my template she didn't put home. But you added that code in? I have been looking at your template all along, just don't understand all the time which is why I ask for clarification.

Yes am missing the home link, it was there at 3 in the morning when I quit working on it but disappeared this morning sometime and it is in the template when we first installed it the "home" was the first one listed then the other links and an icon for the shopping cart. All I did was insert the code for the little black arrows and touched nothing in the coding aside from Shopping Cart to add text and remove the icon. I used tpl_header.php in the common folder of the template

I don't remember if this was asked so forgive me if it was. What version of Zencart are you using? Ceon URI ? All the latest? Yes latest versions of both, 1.5.4 cart and 4.5.0 of Ceon

Can you put the store back to its classic template? Then check for errors. I'm thinking of the "add to cart" one in particular. It can help you narrow down errors which are in her files and aren't (which I'm sure you know). I did that when the other helper asked me to try it and not one of the problems function right in classic nor her previous template and they did all work prior to the template.

I really appreciate all the sugestions, yes even the repeated ones, and honestly this is not the first template with this new version that we have tried...previously everything worked right until ANY responsive template got tried. I hate the idea of reuploading all fresh files for cart again, checking to make sure store works then putting files for template in there and see it break again...LOL

But I am no stranger to that so most likely will do just that much later, can't do much in daytime with the heat, both my body and the comps don't like it...LOL

If they don't work with the main zencart template then they won't work with any template. That shows it isn't a template problem.

You are sweet to try this on your live store---nice store I might add --- but not quite the same. Yours shows you the almost same error but still sends you to the shopping cart and shows the item the person wanted to buy.

On this store when we click the buy button/add to cart button it takes you to a page that says the error message about the qty but it also does not even add it to a cart at all, it says:

Home Your Shopping Bag

Your Shopping Bag is empty.

But at least we can narrow down the qty business...LOL I shall go in and add a 1 to the qty area, we do not need the units part I don't think. I am not familiar with the qty thing, my store --- my own store not this one I am working on....is all virtual products so no shipping, no qty needed although when they do buy they can add the the cart before confirming order.

I went to just one of the products, made sure that all 3 of those boxes had a number 1 inserted, then tried it in the store and am doing the happy dance....It took me straight to the shopping cart where it proceeded to add it to the cart. Whew.

Now am going to wait til after midnight to see if I can get the product page (where they can purchase) to look like yours, as far as both bounding boxes aligned side by side and hopefully get the description to show and the next/prev button area to appear above the product....it is set to show on top only but refuses to do it, it likes the bottom...LOL

Now also the owner of the store wil need to go through all her 800+ products and set the rest of them as such.

Well that was short lived. I set the product to have 1 in all the boxes and yes it did what it was supposed to do...but then if you try to increase the amount of items say like you decide to buy 2 vs 1, it won't let you change the number anywhere.

So back to square one again.

I will uninstall the template totally...sql and all, take down all cart files and then reupload the cart files from the beginning. Verify that the old template still functions right as well as the default one BEFORE I reinstall the responsive template.

IF this does not work the owner will just need to find someone that will be able to make it work cause I am fried with this and all the responsive templates that either work like the store should but will not edit without breaking or like this one that does not edit one thing without screwing up another (that had no touching of file that has the problem) Like now the :: in the tagline (header.php) is showing as :, bolder and larger but that file was not even touched.

That is very confusing since we have NEVER had them listed that way. they have always been as the information I posted. I switched templates back to the original one that we had prior to upgrading and tried the things that were not working in the responsive one...and they do work as they were set in admin. The only thing that has gone comatose now is the next/prev buttons that are now showing at the botom of the product description page....even though they are set to be shown at the top, like they used to be.

Me personally have had issues with the responsive templates here...I have tried them all and they all do not function totally...and there are some that say they are responsive but when going to a google verifier, it claims they are not responsive at all...weird.

I want a free responsive template that is like my coppermine gallery template. It lives right along side all the other templates, changes no core files at all, changes no settings in admin (after all we set things the way we want them and to have a template presume to set things for us is just not right) then when a mobile device is detected in use it auto switches to the mobile template, thus leaving our customized non responsive template to rule the computer and the mobile one to rule the mobile devices.

Actually, unless you are trying to limit the user as to how many of the product they can buy, the Maximum should be 0, for unlimited ...

The Minimum would be 1 unless you are trying to for the customer to have to buy at least XX quantity of the Products ...

Units should be 1, unless you want to force the customer to buy in increments, such as 2, 3, 6, 12 etc.

There are times when these differ but on the whole the settings should be the defaults of:

Product Qty Minimum: 1
Product Qty Maximum: 0
Product Qty Units: 1

And if I may add, once a solution is identfied for the change(s) needed in the above three settings, then they can be changed enmass through sql statements from the tools->install sql patches section. But looks like perhaps other things are to be addressed/determined first.

well removed the responsive template totally and then tried it with just the store default template and all works again, then turned on her old template and it was for 1.3.9h which was working flawlessly earlier.....and that darn about us page is shwoing only the title/upper main area and side boxes on the left, no footer and no text and the darn error in log is back:

It sounds like the /includes/modules/pages/about_us/header_php.php processing for the page isn't setting the $define_page variable to contain the name of that page. I believe that the define-page's filename is present in a file present in /includes/extra_definitions; perhaps that file was deleted?

nope I rechecked all the files for the template. I finally had to delete the entire slew of template files cause the about pages text from the file decided to work---in the area above the log, on the background pushing the store way down the page.

It id not even go away after I deleted all the files and none of the core files were touched either.

I just deleted all store core files (even those edited for the 2 mods) and reuploaded fresh files for the store. Tested it with the classic template and all is well with the store so now am trying to find a good responsive template cause all the ones we have tried have been very filled with all sosrts of things going wrong. It is so weird.

The templates work sort of, but all we need to do is just edit even colors or turn on the sideboxes or logo and something breaks. Fix that and something else breaks and all we get is that it is not a problem in the template demo....lol But there are still plenty of other templates to try.
