Linked Product, 2 seperate Sort Orders?

So I've been looking into this and read a couple of forum posts about it, but I might have to be clever about this but my brain is going overboard.
So I have rose products and if you want a climbing rose you'll find it in the climbing category but also it could be also be in a category that is called 'Personalised names'. My sort order is alphabetical which works fine usually but not for 'Personalised names'. When someone is browsing for their name e.g Lucy there is a rose called Blushing Lucy and it will be under 'B' not 'L'. The product still needs to be linked as I have to know its stock levels.

So you could treat the personalized category with a different type of sort order such that possibly the numeic sort order could be applied, though the issue described seems to be more related to the naming convention than the sort order... Still it could be possble too default to the numeric sort order when the category displayed is the personalized category. Otherwise, and it would affect stock quantity tracking you coould have a "second" product where iit is named other than what currently entered.
