Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

I have a website, which has been working. A customer tried to purchase some items, and they said they got an error on checkout. So I turned on testing and I get the following error:

Communications Error - Please notify webmaster. - Your credit card could not be authorized for this reason. Please correct the information and try again or contact us for further assistance.

Any ideas?

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

Have you tried to log onto your authorize.net account to see if everything looks ok there?

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

everything appears to be ok Only issue I can't verify the Transaction Key on authorize.net Login ID was correct and the MD5 Hash key appears correct.

In the log file I see the following:

Comm results: 35 error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

I am wondering if it has to do with "Security Certificate Upgrades to api.authorize.net" "As part of our continuous upgrades to enhance system performance and security, on September 21, 2015, we are upgrading api.authorize.net to new security certificates, which are signed using Security Hash Algorithm 2 (SHA-2) and 2048-bit signatures. "
When I read the blog, it did not appear as if I would be affected. Thanks for any ideas.

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

Important announcement about POODLE and payment security

Would highly recommend following the Zen Cart Release Announcements if you have not already. This will ensure you receive future notices when posted.

NOTE: Me and mc numbers seem to be reading each other's mind tonight. At least in this thread!

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

No it has to do with an update that should have been applied almost a year ago: POODLE fix...

https://www.zen-cart.com/forumdisplay.php?2-Zen-Cart-Release-Announcements

Dang you lhungil, I'm keeping my first link though... Should apply too the above link to get wrd of such important patches.

Alright that edit was just obligatory. :P still keeping it.

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

I have fixed that issue. Now I get Array ( [0] => A matching lookup could not be found for this authorization (CartID : 22172) )
Would that mean that Login ID, Transaction Key, or MD5 Hash are wrong?

Thanks

Didn't identify if using SIM or AIM, but knowing that not using the latest ZC, perhaps this fix might do it for you? https://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?213868-Known-Bugs-%28and-fixes%29-with-v1-5-3&p=1259225#post1259225

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

it is AIM. can't upgrade. Try doing the steps, and it fails. The company paid long term for a hosting plan, and I can't upgrade the plan to a newer plan that supports the newer version of zencart. Checking link now

What is the highest available php version available under current plan?

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

Maybe enable "debug mode to logfile" within the Auth.net AIM module, test a transaction to the point of failure and then attach the contents of the associated error log (within CODE tags) The # symbol in the formatting menu just above where you type the response.

That might be more helpful than the error displayed onscreen.

Installing lat9's debug backtrace will also show additional debug information

Said nevermind, understood that the above error is related to not applying the poodle fix issued a year ago?

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

None of my AIM or SIM myDEBUG logfiles are ever that short

Cant paste the links with this tablet. Google the first line text of the error. Might be something your host needs to fix.

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

I wait until this morning. the error: Comm results: 35 error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure is not showing up. I got an error that the API Login ID was invalid [shown in logs]. so I went to Authorize.net and got a new key. Now I get: Array ( [0] => A matching lookup could not be found for this authorization (CartID : 84145) ) again Not sure if I am missing a step

This is the info in the log file:

Re: Authorize.net module suddenly quit working communications error

By chance, are you attempting to use TaxCloud

If yes, try googling
Array ( [0] => A matching lookup could not be found for this authorization

The debug file posted indicates a successful auth.net transaction. (at least in the TEST mode)

I disabled tax cloud about 8 months ago.

Just checked I see tax cloud is enabled again. I disabled it. And it is now working

THANK YOU SO MUCH

Besides glad to see problem is fixed, based on the above information you can upgrade (by rebuild) to ZC 1.5.4 as it is supported using PHP 5.4...
