complete free shipping for digital products

hi. we sell tangiable and digital products. right now anything under $125 gets charged a $12.95 handling fee.

in order total modules we have ot_shipping set for 125.
in shipping modules we have "flat" set as 12.95

this works for tangiable products since a shipping address is required

for virtual products we have
Product is Virtual: Yes, Skip Shipping Address
Always Free Shipping: Yes, Always Free Shipping

this makes sense since a shipping address is not valid BUT we get this error since a shipping address cannot be looked up

Error encountered looking up tax amount Server was unable to read request. ---> There is an error in XML document (2, 576). ---> Input string was not in a correct format.

we are using taxcloud but taxcloud states they are not zen cart experts and to ask here. to me it sounds like a module issue or do i have the settings incorrect?

the user can still check out, just that error message in red shows all the way through the check out process.

Yes I have.

I also stated this is a module issue but their reply was

"We are not ZenCart experts, we are sales tax experts. Have you asked your question to the ZenCart forums?
If you are selling digital goods (or any situation where you do not have a shipping address), the billing address should be used for the shipping address."

Looks like the last version of that mod has been designed for ZC 1.5.1. Meanwhile we are at v1.5.4, many changes in the codes since the release of ZC 1.5.1

Me thinks they (TaxCloud) have submitted that module but have no interest in keeping it updated to ensure compatibility with the latest ZC code.... not so good!!

I am not familiar with that plugin so can't comment any further.
