Manufacturer-specific Special/New/Featured center boxes

When the customer is looking at a manufacturers listing page, shouldn't the Special, New, Featured and Upcoming centerbox content be specific to the selected manufacturer? That's the way the centerboxes work on the sub-cat listings.

Yes they should, but they're not. It would also be nice to be able to easily choose which of these feature boxes appear on the manufacturer pages. On my setup I suspect only the New feature box is relevant. Plus it would be nice to be able to include the manufacture/brand name in the feature box headings to make them more SEO friendly and less like duplicate content.

I've been wondering for some time now why most of my pages rank well in search engines, but none of my manufacture pages do. I suspect this has a lot to do with it.
