Emails Not Working .....tried to restore now cant see site! help please

I have not made any changes to my 1.54 files and all of a sudden emails are not being sent.
New account registrations, contact us form, nothing.

I am getting this message when trying to send myself an email i admin:

ERROR: Failed sending email to: "XXXXX" with subject: "xxxxxxxxx" The following From address failed: [email protected]: Called Mail() without being connected

I checked my sub domain which is also running 1.54 and emails work fine so this led me to believe that my host was not the problem.
I restored last nights files and now my main site https://www.gelcandlecompany.com is a white screen server error.

My subdomain wholesale site is fine at gelcandlecomany.com/wholesale

The email settings have been used for years and worked fine.

Please help.

If this sounds like case, wouldn't the working subdomain be affected also??

Since I restored my files I have over 80 MyDebug error files on my white screen domain gelcandlecompany.com. I noticed that my host changed the php to 5.4 for some reason and I change to 5.6 about an hour ago.
Yet the sub domain is ok. Where do I begin?

I am feeling that this maybe a file issue of some sort because my subdomain https://www.gelcandlecompany.com/wholesale is on 1.54 and running fine even the emails.
Should I just restore last weeks file altogether to be safe?

My host just.told me they upgraded my version yet my cpanel shows 5.2.4.2.

They also sent this link showing I'm on php 6

I just informed them.

I just chatted to someone else at Bluehost and they said they set the php to 5.6 once again and they are telling me that it takes an hour for it to show in my cpanel on the column under versions. cPanel 11.52.2

Since the 1.54 sub-domain is working alright (emails too) can a php server issue just effect my root site only?

Do you guys think I should restore files only from another known working date on my main site? Since my last restore the subdomain is the only zen cart shop that recovered the root shop didn't. https://www.gelcandlecompany.com

Should I be on Php 5.6 single or fast cgi? I am on bluehost I can shift but it never seem the change under versions in cpanel homepage.

my hosting company just restored my last working date and to my shock my root site gelcandlecompany.com is still not working visible but my subdomain is.

they initially told me that "It appears that the coding calling for imacik is calling incorrectly from this customers website.
not sure what that means and they said that a developer is needed and to look at log files.

They also assured me that I am on php 5.617 by looking at http://www.gelcandlecompany.com/info.php

If I paste every log file here, will you guys help me explain how to fix my issue? I do now understand the log files very well. Thank you guys I am sorry to taker too much time.

I am aware of that but I can't access the root site admin yet. gelcandlecompany.com

I guess once I see my logs first or should or can i sql that?
I will check logs, there is a bunch. I know start with oldest. lol
