Upgrading from 1.5.1 to 1.5.4 get error 'Your database appears to need patching ....

Hi - upgrading from 1.5.1 to 1.5.4 using rebuild method - at final test stage having imported 1.5.1 database into 1.5.4 version and get this message, 'Your database appears to need patching to a higher level. See Tools->Server Information to review patch levels'

among a plethera of other information I get this -
Zen Cart 1.5.4
Database Patch Level: 1.5.1
v1.5.1 [2015-03-02 12:39:55] (Version Update 1.5.0->1.5.1)
v1.5.0 [2015-03-02 12:39:55] (Version Update 1.3.9->1.5.0)
v1.3.9h [2011-08-14 18:10:43] (Fresh Installation)

is the patching to a higher level done via a patch available from ZenCart or does it need to be done by the host?

Uploading the files is only one part, zc_install need to be run to upgrade the database.

You need to re-run zc_install and select "Upgrade Database only"

Apparently not, or you wouldn't be getting the message you posted.

IMPORTANT NOTE that you probably missed: Does your DB_PREFIX on the new site match the DB_PREFIX in the configure.php files of the old site? If not, your new site won't know which tables to look at, and therefore zc_install won't upgrade the correct set of tables, and it will "look like" nothing's happening ... because you've told it to use the wrong data.

Thanks Doc - misread the response from barco57 - penny dropped with response from kobra - all is good now, I had missed that step after having had a torrid time with super slow broadband transfer rates - frustration can cloud judgement :)

Clear communication by all helps out a little too. Things like have you run zc_install after uploading the database. And I ran zc_install to setup my files (before uploading the database).

Can make a world of difference in understanding the conditions and the action(s) to take. :)

Totally agree mc - as can interpretation of the written word as read by a recipient - (many a critical battle throughout history has been unnecessarily lost through poor communication.) - I certainly learned a lesson :)
