How to let products display sort by product id?

How to let products display sort by product id?

I have added several products under category of "Plastic Glasses". When I got to "Categories / Products - Plastic Glasses", I found all products under this category sorted from a to z. How to products display sort by product id, please? Thank.

Are you sure you want to use the products_id (requiring custom code) instead of the sort order (built in)?

Also, what is the purpose of using the product_id? from a customers point of view the alphabetical sort order makes more sense to me.

i believe the product sorter has a sort based on date added. in theory, the product_id should mimic the date added sort.

if using that sort does not work for your needs, let us know. also, if you want the default to be the date added, the change should not be too difficult.
