Was getting (28) connect() timed out! dream host fixed the problem but now a new one.

I was getting () - (28) connect() timed out! error for my PayPal express orders. I contacted dreamhost support and sent them this tread

The support agent said he would move my site to a different server to see if it would fix the issue. Well , the error message went away but now it seems to take forever for for my site to go to the paypal express checkout page. I don't remember it taking this long. Could anybody tell me what is causing this ?

I just got a follow up from a dream host admin on my ticket. I just asked them for help on the new problem. I guess it should have been logical.

well i hope some else has other ideas about the cause of this ... or else i am in deep water. It seems dreamhost has gone silent about my issue after saying they would move my ticket to a different department better suited to handle this. I don't get it, the server move seemed to have fixed the 28 error but now the transmission from my site to the PayPal express checkout page is almost 1 min.

the debug log is not showing any curl errors. Or at least where i was getting the error 28 i now get this

user error. I did a search. and i came up with this thread.

about half way down one of the people helping the guy mentioned that his ipn page hangs a bit. He then says that maybe he should turn debug mode off.

It was then that i realized that I still had it on from when i was trying to solve the error 28 issue that my host fixed by moving to a different server. I turned debug mode off and now it works just like how it should.

I see why it's worth searching the forum. The solution was right there.
