Tableau Theme configuration not working.

Hi all,
I have just installed Zen Cart and added the Tableau theme.
After activating the theme, I followed instructions and went back in to the template selection page and clicked "configure" on the theme, but nothing happened.

Aside from #configuration-wrapper being added to the URL.
I was going to report this in the Tableau theme post, but I thought I'd check this with the "Responsive Classic Template" that came pre-installed and after activating it, I am having the same issue trying to configure it.

I've checked the logs folder, but there are no logs in there.

Is my install missing a component? It was installed via softaculous.

Temporary workaround:

go into YOUR_ADMIN/template_select.php

Look for:

change to:

The javascript is not attaching itself as expected to the required elements.

I'm not familiar with Numinix's CSS JS Loader, but I'm sure Numinix can provide a little insight.

Editing the code as I suggested will give you the configuration settings, and allow you to save the changes.

The way the settings are displayed to you though may look a little weird. Also, There seems to be a fancybox error as well..I think that's also playing a part in why it's not working as expected.

Many thanks for that, the temporary workaround has indeed worked. But as you alluded to, the formatting is all over the place.. but at least it is a start!

As I set up the VPS myself installed cpanel/whm/etc and then installed this script via softaculous, could it be a component I'm missing as to why fancybox isn't working? either a library or some sort of server side include?

Just noticed an issue.
When I make changes to the configuration and click "save all changes".. it doesn't save them :-(

Would this be a permission error? if so, what file should I look at? most seem to be 644, aside from the directories where I have had to set as 777

I didn't do enough testing. Let me dig around and see if I can figure it out.

Okay..

do this:

go into YOUR-ADMIN/includes/template_configuration/template_configuration.php

find this:

echo zen_draw_form('updatetemplate', FILENAME_TEMPLATE_SELECT, 'action=updatetemplate', 'post' ,'enctype="multipart/form-data" id="updata-temp-form"');

change it to this:

echo zen_draw_form('updatetemplate', template_update, 'action=updatetemplate', 'post' ,'enctype="multipart/form-data" id="updata-temp-form"');

then open YOUR_ADMIN/template_update.php

put this line in:
zen_redirect(zen_href_link(FILENAME_TEMPLATE_SELECT));

before the occurence of the last line, which is:
require_once('includes/application_bottom.php');

This is truly just a work-around. I can't understand why the jQuery wasn't coded to degrade gracefully, but anyhow.

The Tableau stuff comes with heavy alterations to original ZC code. I'm not surprised that those alterations might break Responsive Classic, and any other template, as well.
Contact Numinix for help with their code.

Sorry about that, check the additional edits I've provided. Seems to work now with those edits.

My suggestion is not to use this template at all.

It is a recipe for disaster. Regardless of this little issue, the fact that this template is a half-baked mess, will cause more issues for you in the future.

I do not know if anybody else has noticed, Tableau has not been tested by Numinix on either v1.5.5 & c1.5.5a

An update about the problems with Tableau. I have just uploaded Zen Cart v1.5.4 and this template works fine. So I believe from that, that the latest version of Tableau currently does not work with ZC V1.5.5a.

What I have not yet done is test it against v1.5.5 nor have I up dated from v1.5.4 to see if it still works. going to try that now.

Okay that's you opinion. As with all Plugins that overwrite core files extreme caution is advised.

I have processed in excess of 10,000 orders using this template and guess what? Not a single processing error in my logs caused by this template!!

CSS in v1.6.14 has a few errors but easy to resolve (I used v1.6.6 for best CSS but check change log).

On some host environments this problem (configure menu) has happened to me in Zen v1.53 & v1.54 also. I have never been able to completely identify the issue (especially prone to happening on a shared hosting environment). Maybe Numinix will find and resolve this issue in the future.

As a work around I have been working in the DB directly. The options available in the configure menu are all available in the DB in an easy to understand format. Have a look at table template_configuration with phpMyAdmin. I'm pretty sure you will work it out from there. Each table entry has the description included. :yes:

I have come to the concluion that this template will not work with v1.5.5 & v.1.5.5a. I will stick with v1.5.4. I know anne is very busy and will find the problem, however, as I said before if you go to the Tableau plugin page, the Zencart Versions list v1.5.5 & v1.5.5a are not on the list.

Actually there is a jquery version conflict from your_admin/includes/header.php and the header file from tableau, they use different versions of jquery which cause conflict, just delete one of them(I wold suggest delete the one in includes/header.php) the template configuration will work.

Could you give me a few more details. I don't want to make a ham-fisted error, but I'm excited to be this close.
