Order Confirmation Emails Stopped (Host Monster Hosting)

My order confirmation emails stopped coming in recently. I checked the log, it is clean.

I am using Host Monster hosting and these are my mail settings:

You've indicated that you're running Zen Cart 1.5.1; what version of PHP is your store running on? You can tell by going to your admin's Tools->Server/Version Info.

You'll need to edit your store's /includes/functions/functions_email.php to get some additional information.

Locate the following section (it's the end of the zen_mail function) and add the highlighted code:

That update will result in your store creating a myDEBUG-*.log file (in the /logs folder since you're running Zen Cart 1.5.1) that will contain the email error information.

Updated the file.
Placed a test order

No error file created. Error logs folder is still empty :blush:

Another approach you can take to isolate where the email transmission is failing is to enable Configuration->Email Options->Email Archiving Active. Perform a transaction on your site that should result in an email being sent, then log into your webhost's cPanel to locate the phpMyAdmin tool.

Use phpMyAdmin to view the email_archive table. Did your email get recorded in the database? If so, then Zen Cart's done its bit but there's something still amiss in your webhost's email configuration.

Since email archiving was enabled all this long, all the test order emails are present in email_archive table. It's not missing any...

Sorry, I should have seen that from your initial email-configuration posting:blush:. Does anything in this FAQ article about email issues help?

I recommend using SMTPAUTH first, instead of just PHP.

All the email addresses, including 'sending from' are Gmails. May be I should create domain oriented addresses and use them?

I'm grasping at straws here, but you might give that a try (it can't hurt).

I changed all the Gmail accounts in to domain based address.

Voila!!! Seems to be working now!!

Woo-hoo! I'm glad you got it sorted out, but I also wonder what your webhost changed in your store's configuration to make that change necessary.

It's very possible that your old ZC version, which uses an old PHPMailer version, is incompatible with rules enforced by both your hosting company and gmail. Upgrading would be advised ;)
