Batch Importing a list of Manufacturers

Hey guys - I have a large list of manufacturer names that I want to batch import into our store. Is the best/preferred way to do this by using Easy Populate? The only thing I need to import is just this one field (no products or anything else).

I was originally just going to insert the list into the zen_manufacturers table by running a MySQL insert command, but I noticed that it also has a corresponding "manufacturers_INFO" table which needs to updated. So in order to remain consistent, I wanted to ask you what the easiest way to insert this list would be.

What results have you gotten by searching the plugins section? If there is a plugin that specifically targets your desired action, then I would say it is probably the route to take.
