Is there a product import that will import images from another website.

I currently use Easy Populate for product import from my different suppliers but a BIG problem is with the images. The suppliers provide a link to their images but this plugin requires you to upload the images separately into a subdirectory of your images folder and this is currently a 1 by 1 process. Most suppliers don't have CD's with just images.

I found this plugin - https://www.magneticone.com/store/Zen.Cart.Modules/Zen.Cart.Management/Automated.Product.Import.for.Zen.Cart - which does what i want but it is no longer being sold.

Does anyone know of another product that does this?

Re: Is there a product import that will import images from another website.

I used something a few years ago that "scraped" images in the way you need to. I'll dig out the old computer I used for this and see if I can find it.

Years ago, I put some posts on the forum about this scraper, (probably around 2010 - 2011) but I don't know how far the search archive will take you.

One thing though... if the host server (where the original images are) denies access to this sort of scraping, then there's no way around it.

Your supplier SHOULD do the honourable thing and at the very least, zip up their images and make them available somewhere - or perhaps just load the zip file to your dropbox account.

For the most part, these sorts of suppliers care not a hoot for their re-sellers. Pity... as without us, they aren't in business either.
