Structured Data Markup for Schema, Facebook Open Graph, Twitter...

Thanks for your reply and help flappingfish!

I am using the latest GitHub version (just downloaded and installed this morning). I do have the same USD as my default currency in Zen Cart and in the Currency (Schema/OG).

I have been working on it since my post and I've AI'd a coding solution of for line 201:

global $currencies;
if (isset($currencies) && is_object($currencies) && isset($currencies->currencies[PLUGIN_SDATA_PRICE_CURRENCY])) {
$decimal_places = $currencies->currencies[PLUGIN_SDATA_PRICE_CURRENCY]['decimal_places'];
} else {
// Fallback if the object isn't ready yet
$decimal_places = 2;
}

I've applied this about 15 minutes ago and have clicked on at least a dozen pages on my site and nothing in the Debug Log....so unless there is a large delay in it showing up in my Debug Log...I think this may have worked?!

Thanks again for your help!

seems sane enough to resolve the issue. I have an older version of this module installed, pre zc_plugin era that has been patched a few times. I'm sure i will get round too it in the near future. Perhaps this part will be patched on github repo by then :laugh:

Re: Structured Data Markup for Schema, Facebook Open Graph, Twitter...

Thanks again flappingfish...much appreciated!! Still no Debug Logs.....so this coding must work to fix this PHP issue.

If you decide to update to this version....just know Torvista did a great job as this was probably one of the easiest and smoothest plugins I've used....and I've got more than 14 installed on my site.

Thanks again...

Cheers,

Jeff

Without wanting to burst your moment of happiness bubble... the flip side of this here is you should really not be asking "did this stop the error logs" rather "why has nobody else had an issue resulting in this patch being necessary today" :lookaroun

A true message definitely....but with everyone applying different plugins and mods to their sites....I guess issues can be as wide and varied as people are!

true, although yours appears to have an issue appear that you have now silenced... you should really investigate that further. I would check your structured data with a structured data mark up validator to make sure you can see currency is indeed there and showing as "USD" as presently you could be telling google you sell x item at "11.99" and currency as "usd" instead of "USD" for example. A small difference like that would show as an error on the structured data check i believe?

https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data

if you have not already checked :)

Re: Structured Data Markup for Schema, Facebook Open Graph, Twitter...

Thanks for the heads up and suggestion on this. I have now double checked using the Google test and confirmed it does have USD (all in caps, not one in lower case and one in caps) as in my site Admin.

Could this error have come due to me using PHP 8.3 and perhaps others were using 8.2 and below??

Not sure if it is possible but can the schema type be changed?

It display as "@type": "Organization" and i would like to change it to "@type": "LocalBusiness" or similar.

What do i need to do for that?

Thank you

I could not find it in the Admin under Configuration so I just changed it the jscript file directly.

I may have to check if i am using the latest version of the plugin though

Re: Structured Data Markup for Schema, Facebook Open Graph, Twitter...

For clarification, there are now two current plugins offering more or less the same functionality.

https://github.com/torvista/Zen_Cart-Structured_Data

https://github.com/mprough/super_data

Most probably the latter is better coded, as mine has been a long series of tweaks, and I'm more than happy to retire it, and me.

Ideally some eager beavers will compare the two and come to some conclusions/recommendations.

My point is there should be only one active plugin,

  • to avoid confusion. As this functionality is one of the first things a new user will wish to add. Having a choice is of no benefit. As previously discussed, elsewhere, this should be a core plugin anyway.
  • to be as efficient as possible in reporting and solving issues.

So, over to the public.
