Problem contacting site owner

I bought shoes from a website theotherclub.co.uk who made their site using Zen cart. They took the money from my account for them but never sent them. I have emailed them and they haven't replied. Since my order the site has become inaccessible. I would like to know how to contact the owner of the site to get the shoes or a refund.

Re: Problem contacting site owner

The site is unavailable to everyone and a quick WHOIS check shows the Domain name has been Suspended. Odds are the site will not be back up anytime soon. Best to write this off and forget about it. Stuff happens and it's a shame when it's bad and in this case, no sense wasting a lot of time over it.

The learning is in the doing.

I would definitely contact the organization through which you provided payment. I may be overboard, but I believe also that you may need/want to file a report with your local authorities.

If you have a little mooch around you'll be able to find the name and address of the individual that registered the domain name... Audrey...

Re: Problem contacting site owner

That worked I have her name and address now. I tried finding her phone number on an online phone book but she doesn't seem to have a home phone I might get in contact with her through the police

Again, and it may be different there, would recommend contacting your local police, provide whatever information you have, and they should in turn reach out to her local area. My past experience with a different but related issue was that when I attempted to reach the authorities at the location of concern they advised the need to reach the authorities local to me. Worked with them and the issue got resolved.

Well, unless they indicated that the product was manufactured and shipped from the UK, product can come from anywhere that has been made a provider by the main company. The big issue here is that now that a product has been received, that it is the wrong product. At this point almost no telling where the mix up occurred, but it is something that still should be rectified or addressed.

Re: Problem contacting site owner

The shoes are also fake. Are you saying that the person in the UK is still the one who is doing the scamming? I was thinking someone in China set their IP address to a random house in the UK to avoid getting caught.

I couldn't tell you how/where the person is/was at, there is any number of things that could have been done or could be the truth. My point was that a store could easily market product that they themselves do not have in their possession but instead that is in someone else's warehouse. Such a situation is typically called dropshipping. Someone else handles the product itself. In a trusted, faithful "environment" it works well... one person/business sets up advertising and processing for a product where it could be considered desirable. Someone somewhere else has the product and must push it to the purchaser. There's nothing wrong with that model per se as long as customer and seller are satisfied with the whole process. But, throw in someone that is illegitimate, isn't where their information points, doesn't provide what was purchased or advertised, etc... Well then things get messy. In either case, there has been an issue with this "business" wherever it is, run by whomever. Investigative work is about all that will tell the full story... there are appropriate individuals that do that type of investigation. If it is desired to get to the bottom of things, then that should be initiated. Sooner rather than later.
