Square Payment Module for Zen Cart [Support Thread]

Updated the files, but now if I try to put through a sale using my own card, not in sandbox but on the live site, it declines & doesn;t show me the SCA popup it used to. Now getting this error on checkout payment

(SQ-ERR) Your transaction could not be completed because of an error: [CARD_DECLINED_VERIFICATION_REQUIRED: Authorization error: 'CARD_DECLINED_VERIFICATION_REQUIRED']

Any ideas?

I am now getting the same on all my shops and have had turn Square off for the time being.

Had to be the weekend of course when we cannot get hold of Square techs for help.

We don’t understand why they’re suddenly not prompting for SCA and just declining the card.

Strangely, if you kick it back into sandbox mode it will let you complete just fine but if you put it in live, it just progresses to checkout_confirmation without the prompt and then falls back to checkout payment with a payment auth error. So weird.

I've been going around in circles trying to get this to work because it works in sandbox but not live, but in a weird way it's nice to know it's not just me.

In sandbox, if you use open the browser console as you progress throuch checkout payment, you can see the request to squre for the SCA modal, but in live it doesn't. Thsi was working up until yesterday morning.

Just had this from UK Square manager who said that this issue is widespread and not down to our code

"Square is currently experiencing degraded performance on card acceptance in the UK.

As of this email, the issue is under investigation and remains unresolved.

We have on-call engineers working right now to resolve the problem but we should be back up and running shortly. "

Good work getting hold of them at the weekend.

Confirmed it's working here too. Now, hopefully the square plugin can be transitioned away from Square javascript and onto their SDK. Would lave for this plugin to keep developing, it has been so good for our zen cart compared to the hassle of paypal. Cheaper fees too.

My customer is using zen 1.5.5

I have done the inner-light.co.uk/SquareSCA.zip file upgrades but then square disappears form payment modules in admin. When I put their old modules/payments/square.php back it shows in admin again. Is this upgrade not compatible with 1.5.5?

I have only tested it against 1.5.7 so don't know if it works on 1.5.5

1.5.5 came with version 0.92 of the Square payment module. SquareSCA modifies version 1.5. Version 1.5 of the Square payment module supports Zen Cart 1.5.4 through 1.5.7. Try updating the Square payment module if that hasn't been done, then apply SquareSCA.

I'm still using the SCA mod made by rockestsites last year on my 1.5.6c store. I can send you the two modified files if you don't have copies of them? Still works as expected & the majority of our sales still come through square so its tested. Might tide you over until you can get this new version working?

Yup, I have them and working for now. Not sure what will happen when the next change is due

I have upgraded the API to the newest version and was thinking of then installing the latest plugin along with the SquareSCA but want to try the SCA mod made by rockestsites first.

[Deprecated] On 07/15/2022, SqPaymentForm will be retired and functionality will no longer work. We encourage you to upgrade to the Web Payments SDK https://developer.squareup.com/docs/...ments/overview

I too would appreciate any update on this. The square files on github havent been updated for 2 years, so just wondering if square support is a continued priority, or if it is being dropped? I've started looking at the square plugin to see about migrating over to the new SDK, but it's a little beyond me at present.

I was sent this link by brittainmark, haven't installed it yet but I think it updates the SDK

I hope the module is fully updated as I have numerous websites running SQUARE PAYMENTS and the system is easy to use.
