vBulletin update search....
this comment is directed towards this bulletin board software. as numerous people have mentioned, the search functions are not very good. numerous respected contributors say they use google to search for zen-cart posts in the forum as opposed to the built-in search function.
personally, i have experienced the same thing and have resulted in using google search as well for forum posts as well as plugins.
i can provide numerous examples if need be, ie search for populate in the plugins, and easyPopulate v4 does NOT show up.
in looking at vBulletin, it seems possible to implement google search within the bulletin board software. i think this would be a big improvement, else we need to fix the search function from within the vBulletin software.
new users come to the forum, search for an answer to their question, can't find it, post something, and then some knowledgeable people on the forum point them in the right direction.
how many times has someone started their post with:
"I tried searching the forum, and could not find anything....."
lets address this.
