Oscommerce Master Products

I am looking for something like Oscommerce offers as a add on.

It is called Master Products.

Basically it allows you to have a list of parts under a master name. It allows the customer to add quantities of parts under the master part, it like a kit builder. For example lets say you sell survival food supplies.

Kit one supply (generic name used)

Freeze dried soup __
Freeze dried Vegetable __
Freeze dried Fruits __
Freeze dried stew __

The customer can add quantities and then click one add to cart button.

I have seen several requests for something like this in zen cart, but no one has come up with anything.
Everybody pushes better together, or some bundle plug in, but these do not offer the functionality that this offers.

Twitch Attributes has this functionality however it remains in R&D at the moment. Zen attributes and associated plugins can be setup to accomplish this... but it's complicated and I've yet to see a stable production site doing it.

Glad to hear that something might be in the works. Is there any time line on when this might be ready to go?
