Unable to udate EZ-Pages 403 error

https://www.downhomecomputing.com/Store

I am presently using: v1.5.5f
I upgraded from v1.5.5d. I basically did a clean install and changed content as needed.
Everything has been running smoothly until now.

I am trying to change an EZ-Page. Whenever I click the UPDATE button, I get a 403 error.

I have been updating the EZ-Page successfully for several weeks. The last time was 1 week ago.
I have contacted the server support techs at Knownhost.
They said, "let them know it's triggering an Apache mod_security alert due to the "content="text/html;" in the meta tag."
Can you help?

Robert

Re: Unable to udate EZ-Pages 403 error

I have removed the <html> at the beginning of the page content and </html> at the end, and the error no longer occurs.

Re: Unable to udate EZ-Pages 403 error

Yes. EZ-Pages content gets inserted into a [div] inside the [body] tag of the page. Proper HTML structure would never have an [html] or [head] tag inside the [body], nor an extra [body] inside the [body].

From whatever you're copy/pasting from, you should search and find the [body] section, and only copy that part over.

Note: I've used [square braces] here because the proper <angle brackets> may produce formatting errors in forum posts.

Re: Unable to udate EZ-Pages 403 error

Its interesting that it worked fine for several weeks that way, then the next week it doesn't.

Re: Unable to udate EZ-Pages 403 error

Yes it is. Most likely your hosting company implemented tighter mod_security rules (whether that was intentional on their part, or part of automatic updates they get from another service), and that suddenly exposed the improper HTML content you had been putting into your pages.
