Choosing a Hoster

Please use these criteria when choosing a hoster to run Zen Cart:

a) You want a Linux account. Not Windows hosting - Linux hosting.

b) You want CPanel. Not "we have our own control panel - it's better!" CPanel is commercial software which costs money, so many hosts don't use it so they can save money. You don't want to work with these hosts.

c) You want secure file transfer. Not "just use FTP!" They should offer SFTP with Filezilla or the equivalent; otherwise you're connecting and transferring data in the clear.

d) You want an updated version of PHP. You can see the versions which are under support here: https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php

Because of (b) GoDaddy is not a good choice.

Re: Choosing a Hoster

Yep, understood. But please let's keep this to specific technical issues around hosting, not hosting horror stories.
