Estimates

I created an online estimator for my clients. Its functional but not much more than that. I had to change some core files to make things look like an estimator and not a store.

It didnt require much work. I used attributes to help. This could be useful for any job estimate where known variables are involved. The estimator could be useful for:

• Painting (cart quantity is square feet)
• Tree Trimming (cart qty is circumference)
• Concrete slabs (cart qty is square feet, attributes for thickness)
• Lawn cutting (cart qty is square feet)
• Roofing (cart qty is square feet)
• Pressure washing (cart qty is sq. ft.)
• Interior house cleaning (cart qty is sq. ft.)

This would be a really cool feature for zencart. Checkout would be eliminated but printing, emailing and saving the estimate would be required. As it stands...my price per inch is visible. I would prefer to hide this. If its hidden it will be more difficult for competitors to figure out when attributes are used. I read in the forum how to remove the attributes prices.
