recommendations for developers please :(

bud,
i have re-looking at this thread. i think the best that ZC can offer has missed something. i think we have a bug in usu. this has been exposed by potentially a data problem on your site. i'll bring it up in usu....

in:

includes/classes/usu.php

lines 756 to 761, change accordingly:

//from
$sql =
                        "SELECT categories_name AS cName
                           FROM " . TABLE_CATEGORIES_DESCRIPTION . "
                          WHERE categories_id = $single_cID
                            AND language_id = {$this->languages_id}
                          LIMIT 1";
//to:

$single_cID = (int) $single_cID;
$sql =
                        "SELECT categories_name AS cName
                           FROM " . TABLE_CATEGORIES_DESCRIPTION . "
                          WHERE categories_id = $single_cID
                            AND language_id = {$this->languages_id}
                          LIMIT 1";

this has nothing to do with your checkout and 3d or any of that other stuff.

Re: recommendations for developers please :(

now i'm more awake and thinking i have been monitoring for this error occuring and it would seem that people are clicking a link somewhere that's sending them to this page....

https://crazygamer.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1691

Conveniently somebody just tried to checkout as i was typing this and i've got the exact error code that was generated during the attempt, checkout sadly failed and doesn't show on the banks side in the mms yet but it can take a few minutes but heres the log...

This item is in the computing section and displays the "min:0" error on the product pages in that section. I have tested checkout with these items in the past and it shows like an alert but payment goes through fine well it did before this error seemed to get worse. I mention this incase it refers to that issue but the timing is precise for the payment attempt

Re: recommendations for developers please :(

ok so i'm just waiting on an email to come through that contains proof that someone from canada logged into my emails and deleted a months worth of emails. Great customer support from hostinger there, sadly no way of recovering a months worth of business emails but this confirms that numinix know there at fault somehow. The reason i discovered a months worth of emails missing was triggered by a search to work out what happened around the time this occured...
Attachment 19862

Anyways Soap opera update aside, I've got until jan 1st to make this site work or replace it with something that works to avoid a major PR disaster as i arranged to support a charity for next year and have signed a cpa yesterday after 2 months of conversing with them about it and waiting for the agreement :/

If I pop up error codes as they occur could the community possibly continue to assist me in working out what is wrong please? I'd hire someone but this error left me with lower sales and i've been buying stock i'd already previously reserved when my checkout was fine ect so i don't annoy suppliers, some of which sadly with the help of bank of mum! shes nearly repaid just in time for this partnership with the national autistic society, hate to start this thing with a broken site :/

Heres one error i just received. only 10 error logs received today latest seems to be this one mentions shipping estimator..

After editing the code to remove sensitive info i realised it all relates to the template this error, is that why that one file was the older version i wonder, easier to replace one file than code out issues?

Re: recommendations for developers please :(

i am not convinced it is the template. it might be. a lot of changes in v157 due to this incompatible change in php:

https://www.php.net/manual/en/migration72.incompatible.php#migration72.incompatible.warn-on-non-countable-types

you could move your php version to 7.1 would be one potential solution.

i would look at this file:

https://github.com/zencart/zencart/blob/v157/includes/modules/shipping_estimator.php

and compare it your version (hitting the raw button will show just the code from which one could select all and copy). if your version is not v157, replace it with that one. if that does not work, post the template file it is complaining about.

best.

Noting that the underlying issue for USU is that there's at least one product in the store that has an entry in the products_description table, but not an associated record in the **products **table.

The change for the forthcoming v3.1.10 of USU is slightly different from that which @carlwhat proposed; see this commit to USU's GitHub repository.

Re: recommendations for developers please :(

I wanted to try and get to the bottom of this myself with help but a trusted member has offered assistance so my site is being looked at by someone who has more of a clue than me (lol) for sure and has made many plugin contribs ect. Hopefully it can be resolved nice and easy and isn't too much trouble for the member that's helping :)

Really appreciate all the help, everyone has been great, such an awesome community just as i remember from having my site on 1.38a as .co.uk instead before having to close some 7 years ago.

site has been checked and there are now no error codes coming up and everything so far is working as far as i can tell as intended, i do still see one issue though and i wonder if its another bug my unique site has revealed in ultimate urls or is it the other way round?

basically if i copy a link from my website to a category and share that on Facebook it adds a reference number for tracking purposes, this happens whether i'm boosting a post in the business suite or just sharing it on my personal profile, when you click the link it already has this in from Facebook whether you want it to be there or not, removing the tracking reference from the url shows what you would expect to see but just following the link results in a "no items in this category" message still and no error logs.

Here's a link to my gift ideas section copied from facebook so you can see the error yourselves, its an odd one for sure and no error logs to help work out where its happening either, maybe an issue that people haven't noticed that exists on all sites using the module, but most likely just my site i imagine :s

Re: recommendations for developers please :(

i do not think it is ultimate URLs. i do think it is your site specifically as i have not been able to reproduce it.

i think it would be easily solvable by the person who just cleaned up your site. but it definitely looks like a bug, but i'm not able to reproduce it.

best.

Re: recommendations for developers please :(

@flappingfish, if you haven't already, I'll suggest that you enable debug-logging on the site (Configuration :: Logging :: Log All Errors Admin/Storefront, set each to IgnoreDups and set*** Backtrace on Notices*** to true).

While the issues you've been dealing with are of the warning/error 'flavor', you might have additional (currently hidden) issues that the above enablement might expose.

Re: recommendations for developers please :(

it does seem to be the template that is/was the premise for all my woes, the site has taken 3 orders in under 24 hours since the repair was implemented and it does seem a great deal better, i've had one error pop up that's kind of important to get resolved and waiting for a reply but I am aware he isn't always at his computer or close too it and his last email he did say he's off to attend to some other business. Being the time of year it is that could possibly mean anything from nipping the shop to seeing family for christmas, the fact i can take orders finally without 3d secure issues really has felt like a weight off my shoulders, genuinely welled up when i checked my emails and seen the email to say he had finished and someone had placed an order basically moments after he had finished implementing the changes! - perfect timing i know :)

the new issue that's popped up seems to say to me its something simple like a : instead of a ; from what i've been reading from a quick google search of the error code terminology. unexpected tcase in products.php that causes the product listing page to load as a http 500 error. the coding on that line looks almost the same as in the original file. I tried swapping the : to a ; but it made no difference so popped it back the way it was as I didn't really get what the issue was, to a super novice like me it looks perfectly fine and i'd hate to make a mess of someone's hard work so i thought best to await a reply lol

just did this, and it would seem the error i just mentioned is being caused by all the numinix elements of my site and it appears to be saying i'm missing a "gid" in a few php files that relate to numinix modules, those error logs are very detailed indeed compared to usual ones. There's a small array of these and every one ends with a php notice as shown below (some mention other files and say undefined property instead)

--> PHP Notice: Undefined index: gID in /home/uxxx521074/domains/crazygamer.uk/public_html/!!!-admin/includes/init_includes/init_numinix_product_fields.php on line 79.

v3.0.7 was installed around feb i think by numinix during setup of the site, sometime shortly before you made v 3.1.2 i see from the release notes there. Seems to be the running theme of the joke I was left with that all the numinix modules needed updating to work with latest zen, i believe its almost all sorted though just waiting an email from the member fixing her back to spec and a tad beyond ie finishing the job that was hashed originally by those mentioned in post 1
