PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

Thanks for your response.
I installed the non-encapsulated version. It's not showing on the payment modules so I can't install it.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

carlwhat:

if using the encapsulated version, did you go to:

admin -> modules -> plugin manager -> PayPal Restful Payment Module -> install

after that the module should be visible under payments.

best.
I got it working but the checkout page looks bad. There's no option for credit card payments. It's either paypal or check. Is there something I can do?
Thanks

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

There's a setting in the payment module's configuration that indicates whether you want to collect credit-card payments. You also need to contact your PayPal representative to ensure that your account is enabled to collect card payments.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

Another issue.
I ran tests on the payment system and it worked. I disabled the other Paypal payment modules. A customer tried to place an order and I received the following email.
"Check the status of order #.... Paypal transactions were added outside of the payment-modules processing.
I don't see the order and there is not payment on Paypal.

Do you have any idea what the issue is? I appreciate your help
Thanks
Carol

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

You'll need to check with your PayPal representative. That message didn't come from the payment module.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

In my experience, that message appears because you removed or set the old PayPal to false.

If you keep the old PayPal account but set it to retired, it can still allow admins and users to view older orders made with that account.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

Hi
I am trying to help our client get the pay later working on her site.
We updated zen cart to be v2.2.2, PHP version 8.4
I installed the encapsulated paypal restful v2.1.1
https://upgradetest.tattingcorner.com/

We see the pay later messaging on the cart page, but when we get through to pay via a paypal account, all we see is this

pay in full and paypal credit - no option to pay in 4 installments.
I've checked her paypal account and all appears to be ok there. Pay later is enabled.

Any insight?

Sorry, but that's a question for the site's PayPal representative.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

Questions:

a) Would it be possible to have the credit card fields open by default?

b) Would it be possible to move the PayPal Wallet button below the credit card fields?

Happy to create a Github issue if these are features you would consider. Thanks.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

Give this a try:

Add to includes/modules/payment/paypal/PayPalRestful/jquery.paypalr.checkout.js after line 20 (a blank line):

// --- MODIFIED INITIALIZATION LOGIC START --- // MSC1 Force the 'Credit Card' option to be checked by default,
    // ensuring the main payment method ('pmt-paypalr') is also checked if it's a radio button.

    // Select the main PayPal payment gateway radio/checkbox
    if (jQuery('#pmt-paypalr').length) {
        jQuery('#pmt-paypalr').prop('checked', true);
    }

    // Select the specific 'Credit Card' sub-option
    jQuery('#ppr-card').prop('checked', true);

    // Explicitly show the CC fields immediately on load
    showPprCcFields();
    // --- MODIFIED INITIALIZATION LOGIC END ---

Adjust comments as you will.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

Also made the following changes to includes/languages/english/modules/payment/YOUR_TEMPLATE/lang.paypalr.php for clarity.

Line # 8-9 :

'MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYPALR_TEXT_TITLE' => '<b>PayPal Checkout:</b><br>',
'MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYPALR_SUBTITLE' => '(Select <b>PayPal Wallet</b> → <b>Confirm Order</b>)<br>(Select <b>Credit Card</b> → enter details → <b>Confirm Order</b>)',

Optional is changing the following around line 138:

'MODULE_PAYMENT_PAYPALR_BUTTON_COLOR' => 'WHITE', //- One of WHITE, YELLOW, GREY or BLUE; defaults to YELLOW.

Feel free to create those GitHub issues for feature updates at https://github.com/zencart/paypalr. That's the "source of truth" for the payment module.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

The suggestions above were for the non-encapsulated version of PayPal RESTful.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

v1.3.3 of the non-encapsulated version of the PayPal RESTful payment module is now available for download: https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=2382

This release contains various sanitizations (GitHub issues #123, #122 and #121), ported from the encapsulated version (https://github.com/zencart/paypalr).

despite the plugin page, v1.3.3 does not seem compatible with zc 1.5.8.

the missing method is not in zc 1.5.8.

i would downgrade to v1.3.2.

best.

Re: PayPal RESTful API Payment Module

Yes, for now you'll need to use the non-encapsulated v1.3.2 for Zen Cart versions < 2.1.0; I'll have a 1.3.4 posted shortly to correct the issue.
