Best link

HI Guys,
Hope you all have been well.
I am looking to upgrade a couple of carts from 1.5.4 to the new 2.1.0
There are a lot of items in this cart used as a showcase mostly for costume rentals.
It has been a long time since I upgraded a cart and looking through the forum links I am having a hard time finding a set if instructions best for the upgrade.
Can one of you provide me with a good link for this project? I really don't want to have to reload all these costumes by hand again I think there are nearly 300 and that does not include the Mascots page.
costumeandbridalbarn.com is the web site if you want to take a look. And of cores any advice is always very much appreciated.
Thanks you,
Mark

Did you load your backup database into the blank database?

Re: Best link

Hi, Yes, or I thought I did. I'm guessing I did not do something right. Been a long time since I updated a zen-cart so I might of forgotten something along the way. but I did back them up to a backup drive besides my download folder. You know what they say , use it or lose it.

Re: Best link

HI, So is it to late to fix this? I must of made a mistake in moving/uploading the data base. Suggestions on how I might do this or do I need to start from scratch and hope I do not repeat the same mistake. Just might since I'm not sure where I went wrong.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Best link

Best you do it once again, exactly following the docs.
If you still had issues you could write them.

Re: Best link

@maperr5, using phpMyAdmin (or similar)

  • DROP all the tables in your updated site's database.
  • IMPORT the backup you made of the original, non-upgraded site's database into the upgraded site's database.

Re-run the zc_install process. You should be given the opportunity to select an 'Upgrade' as opposed to a fresh install.

HI Folks, hope your Christmas was grand.
Have a little time to work at this now The holiday has passed. This suggestion appears to have worked thought it appears I am missing a few things but that can be remedied. A couple of questions if I may.
First is it was suggested I replace this. Yeah, and that stirling_grand template will need replacement. Can you suggest a template that is similar to the stirling_grand it was.
Second; what re-captcha mod should I down load and add? I see right now there is none on the contact page.
Thanks for all your help and time.

Re: Best link

I updated Recaptcha long ago, but it's only on my Github.

There's the Bootstrap template...

I'm currently combing through the Wokiee template (and posting fixes/changes in a private Github) and despite being a beast of code, it's ok: only one core file overwrite which I've removed. I'll be opening a thread on it presently.
