Version 2.0.0 is out. It's now an encapsulated plugin for Zen Cart 1.5.8 through 3.0.0 and PHP 7.4 through 8.5.
It puts the "open this link in a pop-up window" choice back in the editor, for just the links you pick. That choice went away when Zen Cart moved on from CKEditor 4.
- CKEditor 5 (Zen Cart 2.1 and up): the link box has an Open in Pop-Up Window switch.
- TinyMCE (Zen Cart 2.2 and up): choose Open in Pop-Up Window from the link dialog's Class list.
- CKEditor 4 (1.5.8 and 2.0): use the Target tab's popup window, as before.
- Plain text: add
class="image-popup" to the link yourself.
It's offered on the product, category, define page, EZ-Page and banner editors, and no core files are changed.
Also new:
- PDFs and pages now open in the pop-up window. In version 1 they showed a broken image.
- Links added after the page loads (tabs, quick views) work too.
- If a browser blocks the pop-up, the link opens normally instead of showing an alert.
Upgrading from version 1: delete includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_popup.js from every template you copied it into, then install from Modules > Plugin Manager. Links you already marked with class="image-popup" keep working.
Version 2 needs Zen Cart 1.5.8 or later. On 1.5.7 and earlier, keep using version 1.
