$PRODUCT_DETAILS in order confirmation email?

I need to remove the [InStock] portion of the product listing in the confirmation email. I was able to turn it off in the shopping cart, but haven't found where it is created/included in the email.
A check of the email's HTML suggests it uses $PRODUCT_DETAILS, and an old thread suggests that it is defined in includes/classes/order.php.
I can't find this in the files or database.
Any ideas on where to look?
